recipe Simple Tomato Sauce (made using the choices of 3 tablespoons
butter and 1 small onion)
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons shredded fresh basil leaves (see note)
Follow
the Simple Tomato Sauce recipe, adding cream and basil to the fully
cooked sauce. Continue to simmer until heated through, 1 to 2 minutes
longer. This sauce is best served with fettuccine.
Yields
enough for 1 pound pasta; 4 to 6 servings.
Note: Substitute 1 teaspoon dried basil for the fresh, if desired. But, if
so, add it along with the tomatoes when making the sauce. |
