Octavio Becerra, who co-founded the Patina Group, has emerged from Joachim Splichal's shadow with Palate Food + Wine in Glendale. The reasonably priced menu changes regularly, but may include dishes like seared scallops with melted leeks, tangerine soubise and roasted cherry tomatoes.

Restaurant News: Bastide Introduces Wine Bar
In the few months since Paul Shoemaker took over the stoves, Bastide has made some changes. In addition to incorporating à la carte options into the menu, the restaurant has added a green marble wine bar to the outdoor patio. There's room for six patrons to perch on rattan stools and order high-end rustic fare and wines from the restaurant’s extensive wine list, overseen by sommelier Pieter Verheyde, plus a surprise selection chosen each day.
