Once a gourmet-foods retailer in Marin County, Torn Ranch eventually closed its storefront to focus on wholesaling its popular line of gourmet specialty goods. Now fans of Torn Ranch’s dried fruit, nuts, baked goods and chocolate can get their fix directly once again via their recently opened online store. The company offers a selection of "tea-infused" products, including green tea dark chocolate and truffles with tea-infused centers. We had the pleasure of sampling their Green Tea Jasmine flavored tea cookies.
The cookies are mere nibbles—no more than two bites apiece. However, we found them to have a satisfyingly crunchy texture and a jasmine scent that was distinctive without being overpowering. We believe they would make a dainty accompaniment to afternoon tea or an unusual treat to present to a tea-loving friend.
Torn Ranch Tea Cookies are made with winter flour, unsalted butter, organic cane juice, jasmine green tea, vanilla and salt. In addition to the Green Tea Jasmine variety, they are available in Masala Chai, Orange Pekoe with Black Tea, Hibiscus with Lemon Oil, Peppermint Chill, and African Rooibos with Guava.
