Stubb's Original Bar-B-Q Sauce
Hit the Grill
West Texas is known for barbecue, so it’s no surprise that Stubb's, the tasty brand of sauces and rubs, hails from that part of the state. C.B. "Stubb" Stubblefield grew up here and formulated his recipes after years of cooking, singing the blues, and finally, as a Mess Sergeant in the Korean War. That’s where he truly refined his recipe and talents for cooking barbecue for the masses. After returning with a Purple Heart from the war, Stubb opened his first barbecue joint in Texas. He soon began bottling his all-natural sauces, with none of the artificial ingredients found in typical grocery store sauces.
We tried the Original barbecue sauce at home and found the tomato-based flavor to be zesty and full of character. It is thick and works perfectly as a marinade, but also doubles as a convenient dipping sauce. Other specialty barbecue sauces offered include Smokey Mesquite, Honey Pecan, Hickory Bourbon and Sweet Heat. Consumers can also find a variety of other bottled offerings from the brand including beef, chicken and pork marinades, liquid smokes, rubs, and assorted wing sauces.
