Caroline
Yeh is a chocoholic. While living in New York and working
as pastry cook at Gotham
Bar & Grill her daily routine included trips to
local chocolatiers such as Jacques
Torres, MarieBelle
and Payard.
When she moved to Boston,
to her dismay, there wasn’t a single chocolate shop
that met the expectations of her distinguished palate. So
she simply opened her own little boîte in Boston’s
Hotel
Commonwealth.
At
Temper Chocolates, Bostonians indulge in artisanal treats
made from the highest-quality cocoa beans. Yeh makes it
a point that the cocoa content of all of her chocolates
on offer exceeds 60 percent. Aficionados will love the flavors:
you can taste quality cocoa from Chuao, criollo and porcelana
beans (criollo is the most delicate cocoa bean with porcelana
being a rare white offspring). Aesthetes will love the design
of the bon-bon sized bites. The pretty purses we sampled,
delicately huddled together in precious boxes were almost
too beautiful to eat. But then again, nothing is too beautiful
to eat, right?
The beautifully packaged chocolates are wonderful gift ideas.
Lucky Bostonians and visitors
to the city will find that Temper also features a full
range of teas, espresso-based drinks and hot chocolates,
as well as other treats. Your sweet tooth will thank you.
