Café
Vietnam

A stylish little book full of intense, tropical-flower colors and
food photos, Café Vietnam introduces the uninitiated to
the exotic and highly appealing food of Vietnam—a cuisine
that shows Chinese and French influences and incorporates abundant
fresh greens and herbs. These 75 recipes come from the country's
street stalls and cafes, but are more than just finger food: starters
include delicate pancakes stuffed with prawns and pork; main dishes
include grilled fish in banana leaf, and a rich beef curry; and
desserts include a coconut crème caramel. Recipes are super-simplified,
which is great for beginners but could prove frustrating for more
ambitious cooks.
